In a nutshell: A piste charger in a freeride ski’s body
The Enforcer 88 is the newest ski to be added to Nordica’s best-selling Enforcer range. As the skinniest Enforcer of the bunch, here’s a ski that’s been designed with hardpack in mind but allows you to still have a blast in the bumps, in the trees, in the powder and wherever else the day takes you.
Like many of this year’s standout skis, the Enforcer 88 sports a mid-sized waist that makes skiing fun whether it’s a powder day or it hasn’t snowed in weeks. But while skis such as its close relative the Enforcer 93, or the K2 Mindbender 90Ti focus more on their freeride prowess, the Enforcer 88 is unashamedly about the carving. Featuring the same shape and profile as the rest of the Enforcer range, you can expect a similar smooth and nimble feel underfoot but with quicker edge-to-edge transfers that will see you carving like a boss and railing it around the pistes. However, when you want to hit the bumps, ski some off-piste lines or jump around in the trees, a mid-sized radius coupled with a generous rocker in the tip and tail will make sure you’ve got plenty of manoeuvrability when you’re out of blasting range.
Internally, Nordica have equipped the Enforcer 88 with a full wood core, plus two sheets of metal and carbon stringers along the length of the ski. This is where the Enforcer gets its trademark smooth, stable and powerful underfoot feel that allows it to grip throughout turns and slice through choppy snow like a knife through butter – yet it’s still lightweight and springy enough to take into unknown territory and emerge with a big smile on your face. This is the ski for you if love getting deep into your carves but you want the freedom and creativity across the whole mountain that you just won’t get from a standard carving ski.
